Jarod's birthday is in a few days and I wanted to drop off some treats for him to share with his class. His school however, has a "no homemade snacks" rule, you can only bring items from a store that contain an ingredient list. (Obviously since I have a son who is sensitive to many foods I understand this, but it does make it hard when said son can't eat most packaged foods.)
So, I brained stormed a bit and decided I could come up with something using Yummy Earth Organic Lollipops! These are our favorite natural candy, they are just amazing. With flavors like Pomegranate Pucker, Too Berry Blueberry, Mango Tango, Strawberry Smash, Googly Grape. Very Very Cherry, Sour Apple Tart, and Wet Face Watermelon...how can you NOT love them? Plus they, of course, do not use dye or additives.
This is what I ended up making! Isn't it adorable?

I turned the suckers into flowers using tissue paper and ribbons and placed them into a vase. Dorothy let me rummage through her party box for random decorations that I placed around the flowers. I'll also add some balloons on the day it's going to the school. I made enough for each child (and the teachers) to have a flower and I'll also take some juice and packaged organic cookies. I think he'll be pleased! It's nice to know that Jarod can have a "normal" birthday despite his diet limitations.

What I used to make the flowers, so easy and cheap!
These suckers are around $6 for 60 of them. (Though you could use any type of candy.)
The flower tape was $1
The green wire was $2
The tissue paper was $2
The ribbon was $1
Everything else my MIL had in her party box.
And I didn't use all the above items, there is enough to make 2-3 more bouquets. Would make perfect gifts for....any occasion!
